FAQs – Diplomas & Short Courses (No Apprenticeships)

Clear answers, without the jargon.

A simple starting point for common questions about diplomas, short courses, delivery, and enrolment.

1. Do you offer apprenticeships?

No. We specialise in diploma qualifications and short professional courses. Our programmes are designed to be flexible, accessible, and suitable for learners who cannot access apprenticeship funding or prefer independent study routes. By using this method, you can work at your pace and at a time that suits you

2. What types of courses do you provide?

We offer a range of qualifications and CPD courses to support your career area. Please visit the link on the website for bespoke training designed around industry and employer needs

3. Who are your courses suitable for?

Our diplomas and short courses are ideal for:

  • New entrants to Early Years or Care
  • Upskilling you to progress in the sector you are working in
  • Existing staff needing qualifications for compliance
  • International workers who cannot access apprenticeships
  • Employers wanting costeffective workforce development
  • Individuals seeking career progression or sector entry
4. How are the courses delivered?

We provide online, flexible learning supported by:

  • Digital resources
  • Tutor support
  • Optional live workshops
  • Clear assessment guidance.

This model reduces the need for facetoface sessions while maintaining highquality learning. But a personal plan can be catered for, and learning needs can be adjusted.

5. Are your qualifications recognised?

Yes. Our diplomas are awarded through nationally recognised awarding bodies and meet sector standards for Early Years, Residential Childcare, and SEND roles, which would meet the Ofsted requirements.

6. How long does a diploma take to complete?

Most diplomas take 6–12 months, depending on the level and the learner’s pace. Short courses range from 2 hours to 2 days.

7. Do learners need a workplace?

Some diplomas require access to a workplace for observations or competency evidence. Where this is needed, we provide clear guidance. Many CPD courses do not require a workplace.

8. Can employers enrol multiple staff?

Absolutely. We support group enrolments, onboarding, and progress tracking for employers.

9. Do you offer funding?

Our courses are privately funded. This ensures accessibility for learners who cannot access apprenticeships or government-funded routes. We are happy to discuss different payment methods with individuals

10. How do I enrol?

Learners and employers can enrol online or request a call to discuss the best qualification for their needs. We will be able to explain the pros and cons of the course to ensure you are ready and supported for your next step

11. Do I need English and Maths GCSE? (functional skills)

It's strongly recommended that you take Functional Skills exams if you have not achieved GCSEs in English and maths, and include this during your apprenticeship, as it’s fully funded.

Opting out of functional skills is an option if you are aged 19 or over. However, it could limit your role in an early years setting, as you may not count towards staff-to-child ratios without a recognised Level 2 English qualification.

This may also impact your career progression as many employers and industry bodies require these core skills.

Managers appointed on or after 4 January 2024 must hold a Level 2 Maths qualification or achieve one within two years of starting their position. Additionally, your setting may face staffing challenges, and your employer is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
